HOW THE UNIT WORKS
The UVC tube inside the unit emits a short-wavelength ultraviolet light (100-280nm). This has a lethal effect on microorganisms such as bacteria, moulds, and yeast. Ecoil and viruses will kill or inactivate microorganisms by destroying nucleic acids and disrupting their DNA, leaving them unable to perform vital cellular functions.
UV light has been used for sterilisation and disinfection since as early as the mid-20th century.
It is also known as “UV disinfection” or “ultraviolet germicidal.”
The unit is 70mm high and 80mm wide and made out of mild steel and powder coated in white.
Inside the unit, there is a PLL UVC tube mounted on an aluminium reflected plate secured inside the chaser.
It comes with a plastic handle and an easy-to-press push button on and off switch.
The unit runs on 240 volts and could also be made to run on 110 volts as well.
